Slough Town PALS results

The Slough Town PALS team were in action on Sunday for their second tournament of the year.

The Slough Town PALS (Participation Association Leisure and Sport) pan-disability team were in action on Sunday for their second tournament of the year at Oxford City.

The results for Sunday 30th October were:

v Northampton Town, drew 1-1 (Brandon Sweeney)
v MK Ospreys, won 2-1 (Paul Wade 2)
v Bracknell Cavaliers, won 1-0 (Raheem Choudhury)
v MK Panthers, won 1-0 (Paul Wade)

Having been promoted to Division 2 of the BOBi League after the first tournament, the team found the standard to be considerably higher.

We were relieved to get away with a draw in the first game having been behind most of the match, with our unbeaten record saved by yet another thunderbolt from Brandon Sweeney.

We quickly adapted in the following games by having a more defensive approach with a fast counter attacking style which paid off in three narrow victories.

Scott Miles excelled in his new defensive role whilst new goalkeeper Awais Khan kept two impressive clean sheets and Keiren Kane worked hard on his debut.

Clearly we will have to work harder at this level, and keep our discipline better than today if we are to be successful come the end of the season.

We currently sit top of the table having played 9 games, winning 8 and drawing 1, but have yet to play unbeaten Banbury United who have played fewer games.
