16/11/16

Slough Town PALS competed at the BOBi tournament held at Oxford City on Sunday 13th November. Their results were as follows:

Won 5-0 v Northampton Town
Paul Wade & Shawn Harding both scored twice as we thrashed Northampton 5-0, in the best possible start to the day, with Raheem Choudhury completing the rout. A superb performance but sadly the euphoria wasn’t to last very long.

Lost 0-4 v Bracknell Cavaliers
Our first defeat but no complaints as we were simply dreadful, conceding as many goals in one game as we had in the previous 11. This was partly due to the team abandoning all attempt at defending once two goals behind in a desperate attempt to salvage a draw. The positive was the team’s reaction, losing with dignity despite wild celebrations from the opposition.

Won 1-0 v Banbury
Having regained composure, we played the only team with a 100% record, in a really hard fought and intense encounter. Raheem Choudhury finished off a sweeping Slough move with an emphatic one-on-one finish, but keeper Awais Khan made two excellent saves to preserve the lead as Banbury pressed for an equaliser. Scott Miles, Brandon Sweeney & Paul Wade worked tirelessly. With four points for a win, I can’t emphasise how important this result was for Slough. A demoralised Banbury failed to win their next two games.

Drew 0-0 v MK Ospreys
Just one of those games where despite the opponents not mustering a single shot on our goal, we simply passed up numerous chances, with goal line clearances and the woodwork denying us victory.

Won 2-0 v MK Panthers
We ended the day in the same manner as we had begun with a clinical performance. Shawn Harding securing the win with a great strike late on after Paul Wade had given us an early lead with a typical solo effort, although Dave Carpenter sat behind the goal, insists his shot went through the side netting!

We remain top of League Division 2, played 15, won 12, drawn 2, losing 1 and goal difference +25.
