Following the serious neck injury suffered by Slough Town goalkeeper Mark Scott on Saturday, a Crowdfunder page has been opened to raise funds to help him during his recovery period.

During the match, Mark was involved in a sickening collision which has left him with a shattered C6 vertebra in his lower neck.

This is an extremely serious injury which will involve a lot of rest and recovery, initially at hospital but then at home, which means he will be unable to work as a trainee accountant for a period of up to 3 months (but potentially longer) and will be unable to play football for the foreseeable future. Therefore we are trying to raise some funds to help replace some of his lost income, as he has a partner, mortgage and bills to pay.

Mark had an operation on Monday (6th March) at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford which went well. Specialists have high hopes that he will fully recovery from the injury, however in the meantime any help would be much appreciated.

The Crowdfunder page can be accessed by clicking on this link .
