Pre-season: West Brom and Wycombe to visit Arbour Park

Slough Town will welcome Premier League side West Bromwich Albion and old rivals Wycombe Wanderers to Arbour Park in July.

26/05/17

Slough Town Football Club is delighted to confirm its schedule of pre-season fixtures, which will include prestige friendly fixtures at Arbour Park against Premier League side West Bromwich Albion and old rivals Wycombe Wanderers.

West Brom will visit Arbour Park on Saturday 29th July for the testimonial match of long-serving Rebels physio Kevin McGoldrick. Dave Kemp, a former player and manager at Slough who guided the Rebels to a highest-ever league finish of fifth in the Conference National in 1992/93 is assistant manager to Tony Pulis at The Hawthorns, and will bring a strong squad to Arbour Park.

As well as hosting ‘The Baggies’, Slough will welcome old foes Wycombe Wanderers to Arbour Park on Saturday 8th July in the opening match at the newly-completed Arbour Park Community Stadium. The Rebels’ rivalry with The Chairboys will be renewed as Slough host the EFL League Two side, who finished just outside the playoff places last season. The two local rivals last met in November 2013 in the quarter-final of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup and the upcoming match will no doubt bring back more memories of previous battles between the two sides, particularly the race for the Conference National title in 1992/93.

The match against West Bromwich Albion will be all-ticket. Information on ticket sales will be released and available on www.sloughtownfc.net in due course.

Slough’s other home pre-season fixtures will be against National League South side Wealdstone on Tuesday 11th July, Isthmian Division One South champions Tooting & Mitcham United on Saturday 15th July and Metropolitan Police on Saturday 22nd July.
