Looking Ahead: Wycombe Wanderers

Joint manager Neil Baker provides an update on the squad ahead of tomorrow's visit of League 2 side Wycombe Wanderers.

07/07/17

Tomorrow (Saturday) we get back to match action with the visit of Wycombe Wanderers in our first game at the newly completed Arbour Park.

We have had three tough sessions this week, and tomorrow is a further extension of the pre-season campaign, in getting to where we need to be by the 12th of August.

We are under no illusions that it will be tough afternoon against full time professionals, who ply their trade three levels above us, but it is one that we are really looking forward to.

In terms of squad news, all players have been back training with the exception of Harrison Gilkes (who recently had an operation on his hip) and Josh Jackman (on holiday, returning for Tuesday).

Guy Hollis, Brad Wadkins and Manny Williams have completed all three sessions, however it is unlikely Guy or Manny will play a part tomorrow; Guy should not be playing with full contact quite yet, and Manny is not able to fully sprint yet (but getting there). Brad may make an appearance, depending on his recovery from Thursday night's session, and on how he feels in the warm up.

We have two trialists with us in Paul Hodges, who recently has been playing for Abbey Rangers in the Combined Counties Premier, and Pete Skapetis, who was recently at Dover Athletic and prior to that was a professional at Stoke City. Both will play some part in the game tomorrow.

Squad from: Jack Turner, Nathan Smart, Sean Fraser, George Wells, Alan Inns, Mark Nisbet, Warren Harris, James Dobson, Matt Lench, Paul Hodges, Pete Skapetis, Simon Dunn, Lee Togwell, Nathan Webb, Chris Flood, Gavin James, Brad Wadkins.
