So, after a six-week pre-season campaign, we finally embark on our EVO-STIK League South Premier campaign for the 2017/2018 season with a tough home game against Kettering Town.
Having had a good finish to the season, and recruited well this summer we know that this is one of the toughest starts we could have been given, as both sides will be fancied to be up challenging near the top end of the table come the end of the season.
In terms of squad news we come into the season with no injuries, other than the long-term injuries of Harrison Gilkes and Mark Scott, which leaves us with 18 players to choose from.
Brad Wadkins will play two games for Met Police in the Bostik League Premier on Saturday and Tuesday, as they have picked up two injuries to their strikers, and approached us to see if we could help out with a striker. We felt that this was a good opportunity to get him some competitive minutes before returning next week.
Brad is a player we rate extremely highly and who will be a big player for us this season, but we think it will be beneficial for us and him to help him get back to full match fitness quicker and after the two games he will rejoin the squad ready for the trip to Hereford.
Other than that, we will pick from the following 17 man squad:
Jack Turner, Josh Jackman, Nathan Smart, Guy Hollis, Alan Inns, Mark Nisbet, George Wells, Sean Fraser, Simon Dunn, Lee Togwell, Nathan Webb, Warren Harris, Matthew Lench, James Dobson, Manny Williams, Chris Flood and Gavin James.
