Slough Town Juniors weekend update

Slough Town's Under 12s, Under 13s and Under 15s were all in action over the weekend.

13/11/17

Slough Town's Under 12s, Under 13s and Under 15s were all in action over the weekend.

Under 12s: Maidenhead Warriors 0-3 Slough Town

A brilliant performance from the boys, getting over last week's loss in great style. It really feels like the boys have learned a lot in the losses we have had. In the last three weeks the improvement been amazing.

We are now third in the table with two games in hand over the top team who we play next week with only four points between us.

They played so well as a team but special mentions to Max, Luke and Ruben. It was hard to pick a Man of the Match but Ruben was amazing.

Under 13s: Burnham Junior Whites 3-1 STJFC

The U13s braved the cold, and boy was it cold at Cherry Orchard on Sunday.

A mix up with the referee and the minutes' silence (impeccably observed by the players) made for a somewhat late start. The first half was uneventful and it remained 0-0 at half time, though there was a goal for Slough by Joseph which was disallowed for a foul on the defender.

The second half saw BJ score fairly quickly which was then followed up by a strike for just outside the centre-circle by Eman which found the back of the net. Leo in goal made a few great saves, but the game began to turn in BJ's favour with two further goals before the final whistle. Man of the Match was Leo.

Under 15s

The U15s sneaked into the next round of the Berks & Bucks Cup after a 4-3 penalty shootout win against Taplow United.

The boys took a first half lead through Tom MacFarlane, but despite creating several very good chances they didn’t extend their lead and were made to pay as Taplow equalised towards the end of the second half.

Despite very good late pressure the boys were made to pay for a lacklustre performance. However two fine penalty stops from Nojus Trinovas allowed the boys to progress further in the cup.
