CONIFA World Cup comes to Slough

Slough Town Football Club will host games during the 2018 Paddy Power CONIFA World Football Cup this summer.

27/03/18

The Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) and Slough Town Football Club are pleased to announce that Arbour Park will host games during the 2018 Paddy Power World Football Cup in London.

CONIFA is the international football confederation for teams outside FIFA. It is a global non-profit organization that supports representatives of international football teams from nations, de-facto nations, regions, minority peoples and sports isolated territories. CONIFA is strictly politically neutral, and is run by volunteers. The organization was founded on 7 June 2013, and organised its first World Football Cup in June 2014 in Östersund, Sweden.

The 2018 World Football Cup will bring together a diverse collection of CONIFA members from around the world. Participation was determined based on qualification games/tournaments, regional qualification spots and two wild cards. Sixteen teams will compete in CONIFA's third global event: Barawa, Ellan Vannin, Tamil Eelam, Cascadia, Abkhazia, Northern Cyprus, Felvidek, Tibet, Padania, Székely Land, Tuvalu, Matabeleland, Panjab, United Koreans in Japan, Western Armenia and Kabylia.

Slough Town will host three group games during the competition, which runs from Thursday 31 May to Saturday 9 June:

Thursday 31 May 15:00 KO - Panjab v Kabylia
Saturday 2 June 17:00 KO - Western Armenia v Panjab
Sunday 3 June 18:00 KO - Panjab v United Koreans of Japan

Tickets for the games at Slough are now on sale via Eventim, the official ticketing provider for the tournament. Click here for further details and to purchase tickets.

Tickets for each match are just £10 for adults and £4.50 for under 18s, with a booking fee of £1 per ticket also payable; £1 from each ticket sale will go to a team of your choice to assist in their footballing efforts. And if you want to become a sponsor of CONIFA, you can contact Dean Madders (dean@darkhorses.com).

We hope you will join us in what will be an enjoyable and exciting footballing event!
