Saturday was a proud day for Slough Town Football Club as our new Slough Town Junior Girls U12 team played their first game.
Manager Tom Madigan commented:
"It was the first game of the season and first ever game for these girls as a team but they did themselves proud.
They were a little nervous to start off with and went one nil down early on but once they settled they played out of their skins.
"These girls have put in a tremendous amount of effort over the past few months and put into practise everything they have learnt resulting in a 4-1 victory. They were solid defensively and their free following attacking football was a joy to watch. They played with a huge smile and enjoyed every moment.
"There is plenty of confidence for the rest of the season, and I am looking forward to working with this group and seeing how they progress."
There is still room for more players (Year 6/7) - if you know anyone who may be interested, please contact Kay Lathey (gensec@sloughtownfc.net).
