Dobson departs the Rebels having scored 62 goals in 185 appearances.

We would like to make you aware that James Dobson has today signed for Sutton United.

An undisclosed fee was agreed between the two clubs at the beginning of this week, allowing James to agree terms with them.

As everyone will know, James is very ambitious and at 27 feels that he needs to try and take the chance to step up the football pyramid now. Having had discussions with him just before Christmas, we as a club decided that despite being under contract we would not hold him back in this regard.

There have been a few interested parties, however he goes with our blessing to Sutton where he will work under an excellent manager in Paul Doswell.

His attitude and commitment since he has been at the club has been first class, and we will also miss his family supporting the Rebels up and down the country.

It goes without saying that 'Dobbo' will be a big miss for us at Slough, as his goals and assists have become very important to us over the last three years, however we thank him for his huge contribution to the club and wish him the best of luck with his future career at Sutton.

With James moving on, we hope to make an announcement of a player joining us in the next 24 hours.
