Bateman goes Wild as four sign on
|
| Right-back Paul Telfer. |
Joining the club are Enfield Town captain Chris Wild (on dual registration forms), midfielder Sam Bateman, right-back Paul Telfer and Crystal Palace Academy centre-back Graeme Edwards.
Towering centre back Chris Wild joined Enfield Town in November 2008 from Hemel Hempstead Town. He started his career as a YTS trainee with Leyton Orient before gaining a professional contract with the Brisbane Road club. Since moving into non-league football Wild has played for Grays Athletic, Redbridge, Heybridge Swifts, St Albans City, Braintree Town and neighbours Maidenhead United as well as loan spells at Farnborough and Hayes.
In a career spanning over 550 football league appearances, Paul Telfer joins the squad. Boasting a wealth of experience having played for Luton Town, Southampton, Coventry City and Glasgow Celtic, the former Scotland international joins the club following a short spell at Leeds United earlier this season. Despite starting his career on the right side of midfield, Paul has played much of his career at right-back and is a former teammate of Darren Salton whilst at Luton Town.
Also joining the club is Sam Bateman, son of manager Steve. Sam has made several appearances in the first-team squad for Hemel in previous seasons and is seen as a bright prospect for the future.
In addition to the above trio, the club also welcomes Graeme Edwards who joins on work experience terms from Crystal Palace's Youth Academy and will be with us until the end of the season.
Meanwhile defender Scott Webb has left the club. The full-back made 11 appearances in total for the Rebels.
