Yes, there is a big possibility of a job. All I would say to you that if it does happen it's not a manager's role it's an assistant's role
Dave Anderson
Anderson joins the Rebels following Darren Salton’s decision to stand down from the position last month due to travel.
During his playing days Anderson earned youth contracts with both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United. He went home to Northern Ireland to play for Glentoran and Bangor where injury ended his playing career at the age of 23.
Well known and popular throughout the non-league circuit Anderson first came to most people’s attention after taking over as manager of Hendon where he guided the club to a fourth placed finish in the Ryman Premier Division in the 2003-04 season.
That success did not go unnoticed and the following season Anderson and his assistants moved to AFC Wimbledon, and immediately to lead them to the Isthmian First Division title.
During his spell at AFC Wimbledon Anderson guided the Dons to the play-off’s in the Ryman Premier division, while also overseeing the clubs crushing 9-0 win against the Rebels the season we were relegated from Step three of the non-league pyramid.
Managerial and assistant manager roles followed at St.Albans City, Windsor and Eton and most recently as manager of Northwood where the club enjoyed their best ever run in the FA Trophy with the club missing out on a play-off spot by one point in the 2008-2009 season.
Anderson will be well known to some Rebels players having already managed Chris Seeby, Simon Sweeney, Sean Sonner and Simon Martin at his former clubs.
Speaking on last Monday's BBC non league football show, where Anderson is a regular guest on the show the former AFC Wimbledon manager indicated he did have a offer from a club, but remained tight-lipped.
He told the BBC "Yes, there is a big possibility of a job. All I would say to you that if it does happen it's not a manager's role it's an assistant's role."
We now know that role is at Slough Town FC and welcome Dave to the club.
