Farnborough preview

Dave Barratt is set to face Farnborough.
Slough Town face a tough task on Tuesday evening as the Rebels welcome title challengers Farnborough to Holloways Park for a vital league meeting.

A quick glance at the league table confirms the size of the task ahead, with the Hampshire side eight points off the top with three games in hand over their main rivals. Goals have not been hard to come by, with 80 league goals to their name already, including 6-0 and 7-0 wins against Newport IOW, a 7-2 win at AFC Hayes and of course, a 5-0 victory against Slough Town at Cherrywood Road earlier in the season.

Whilst their last few games have been relatively low-scoring, Farnborough appear to have tightened up defensively recently, and come into the game looking for a fourth successive clean sheet in all competitions, after league victories against Paulton and Burnham, and a Hampshire Senior Cup success against Eastleigh.

Meanwhile, Slough are desperate for points to keep ahead of Bracknell and Andover in the race to avoid the drop. A spirited second-half display against Uxbridge should breed some confidence going into the game, but the Rebels will need to keep the attacking trio of Marcus Richardson, Byron Bubb and Michael Bartley, all former Slough Town players, quiet.

Farnborough should go into Tuesdays game at full strength, with captain David Woozley available again. Fellow defender Rob Marshall is suspended, however. Meanwhile Slough will have Dave Thomas available to fight for a midfield place, whilst Brian Connor, Jermaine Gumbs and Rommell Gumbs are away in El Salvador on international duty.

Supporters are advised to arrive early, as a larger than average crowd is expected for this match.
