Rebels confirm Romeo signing
|

Romeo, who moved to City last season from Maidenhead United, is a pacy striker who has scored goals at every club he has played for. His previous clubs include Maidenhead United, Burnham and Marlow, where he worked with current Rebels manager Derek Sweetman.
Sweetman had this to say about his latest acquisition. "Yash is someone I have been chasing since I took over at Slough. He's a pacy striker who knows where the goal is and a player I have worked with in my time at Marlow. He hit over twenty goals in our time together at Marlow and I hope he can do the same in his time as Slough.
It gives me a nice headache as we now have four good strikers competing for two or three strikers positions in the first team. It will also give us extra options in attack as Romeo's pace gives us another dimension in the front line. He's got the pace to get in behind opposing defences, will allow us to change formation if we need to and adds to our attacking ideas."
Looking ahead to the club's first clash with Cirencester this weekend, Sweetman will be struggling for a squad with a number of players either out or nursing injuries. Sweetman said, "Kevin McGoldrick is currently working round the clock helping us get players ready for the weekend. We have possibily eight players out so we will continue to work with the players to give us options ahead of the game." Luke Evans (suspended), Adam Dickens (groin), Craig Roberts (leg), Steve Daly (torn calf) and Adam Durrant (away) will all not feature whilst Sweetman has concerns over Eamonn McConigley, Byron Bubb and Laurence Brown.
Of Cirencester, the Rebels manager was expecting a tough encounter. "They have recently changed their manager which will give them a fresh impetus. Julian Alsop will be a danger as he's an experienced professional who has the potential to cause our backline problems and we're expecting a tough game. Despite the injury problems we have, I am still confident the team which takes to the pitch for us will go out and do a job for us and get the right result."
