Another home tie for Rebels in FA Cup
Written by Matt Webb
Slough will meet Hanworth Villa for the first time in the FA Cup.
Slough Town have been handed another home tie in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round, against Hanworth Villa.
Hanworth Villa were formed in 1976, and currently sit in 13th place in the Combined Counties Premier Division, although the "Villains" have only played seven league games so far, accumulating 12 points. They recorded a fifth-place finish last season.
After losing 2-0 to Wealdstone in last season's Middlesex Senior Charity Cup final, Villa entered the FA Cup for the first time ever this season. Shaun Preddie created history when he became the first Hanworth Villa player to score in the FA Cup, as they came from 0-2 down to win 4-2 against Shrivenham in the Extra-Preliminary Round.
Villa have since seen off Bedfont Sports - 2-0 after a replay, Wembley (1-0), and most notably Ryman Premier Aveley (1-0) on Saturday.
The match, to be played on Saturday 15 October, will be the first ever meeting of the two clubs.
