We can confirm that Michael Blount has signed Southern League forms for the coming season, and will be spending the early part of the season on a dual registration basis at Walton and Hersham.
He is a player that we rate highly and is part of our long term plans, however a serious knee injury at the back end of last season means he is playing catch up in terms of fitness, and will need a number of games to get back to where he wants and needs to be. 'Blounty' is a no nonsense centre half, and someone that we feel can develop into a top centre half.
We are also pleased to announce the signing of Ryan Lake. 'Lakey' has been with us for the past two years and has pretty much been an ever-present at left back. He is very experienced having started his career with Brentford, and played a huge part in Hampton and Richmond's better days, when he was a big part of the side that almost got them promoted to the Conference Premier. He has won leagues at this level and the Ryman Premier, and is a solid no-nonsense left back.
We are delighted to have him on board, as not only does he bring an air of leadership onto the pitch, he is also very good in and around the changing room, and liked by his fellow team mates.
