We would like to keep everyone up to date with the squad situation:
Firstly we have decided not to take Ryan Blake on. He is a great lad who has played at a good level, however at this stage in his career he needs to be playing first team football, and with Ryan Lake and Darren Wheeler (plus the potential of Dom Rhone when fit) we feel that he would not get much match time. We would like to thank him for his contribution pre season, and wish him the best of luck.
The other announcement is Adam Logie will be leaving us also. 'Loges' is a top lad and someone we really like around the changing room, but he knows he is/was in a big battle for a central midfield role and at present we feel he is behind others. At present his work commitments are incredibly taxing which has resulted in him missing games and sessions, and after an honest conversation with Jon today where he told him that he was unavailable Tuesday and Thursday this week, he has informed us that he will need to take a step back from football until possibly September.
With work and the imminent arrival of his first child, he does not feel that he can give us the commitment that we will need, and this was something that he mentioned at the start of pre season also, so has been in the back of our minds, and it is probably the right thing for him to do at present.
However this is not to say that he will not have a change of heart in a few weeks/months, and we might see him signed somewhere else, as that can happen in football.
We have left it that we will see what our situation is in September and where he is at in terms of wanting to play.
We wish him and his wife the very best for the birth of their first child, which is due in the next 3 weeks.
