Danny Burnell has made a short-term return to Slough Town as cover for the absent Eddie Smith and injured Johnnie Dyer.

Burnell, who scored 80 goals in 138 appearances for the Rebels between September 2010 and April 2013, joined Burnham in the summer, but is now looking to step up his match fitness after signing for Hayes & Yeading in the Skrill South.

Neil Baker commented on Friday: "I spoke to Danny last night, as Johnnie did not come through the session, and he needs to get a few games to get his match sharpness up so he is ready for Hayes & Yeading, and with us two strikers down, it made perfect sense to get him in.

"It suits both of us, and we are delighted he has agreed to come and join us for the next three games."

Jon Underwood added: "I spoke to Tristan Lewis last night who is Phil Babb's assistant at Hayes & Yeading, and they were both very keen for him to come to Slough and we're grateful to them for this."

Striker Matt Grave also joins on a short term basis, and should be in the squad for today's (Saturday) match against Aylesbury United at Bell Close. He has previously been at Egham Town, and knows both Adam Foulser and Ryan Lake.

Adam Foulser played 45 minutes for Ascot United against Oxford City Nomads on Tuesday evening as he continues his comeback from injury, but unfortunately that match was abandoned at half time due to the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper James Hawtree has dual-registered with Holyport after a spell at Bracknell Town.
