Following an incident involving a member of the public entering the field of play during a recent match with Uxbridge FC and the wide publicity it has received on social media websites the club are investigating further.
The publicity and reports have now led the FA to write to the club and we are currently receiving advice from them. Unfortunately for the club and the individual concerned these incidents are viewed severely. The FA’s judgement and advice are awaited and this ‘apparent harmless incident’ could regretfully lead to other authorities becoming involved.
Whilst it may have been intended as a light hearted prank, it will have re percussions for the club and potentially for the individual in question.
Whilst we await the feedback from the FA, we wish to make it clear that this behaviour is not acceptable within football, society in general and is not something that as a club Slough Town will tolerate. For this reason and with regret the individual in question will not, until further notice, be welcome at Holloways Park for future Slough Town fixtures.
Unfortunately and disappointingly the perpetrator has not been in contact with the club to explain his actions.
