Squad update

The joint managers provide an update, with one in and one out of the Rebels squad.

11/12/13

We would just like to keep you up to date with a couple of changes to the squad.

Firstly, we would like to welcome Jake Parsons back to the club. Jake has been training with us for a couple of weeks now, after a stint of rehab with Kev.

Jake was one of the players that we wanted to keep in the summer and we are delighted to have him on board, as he will provide excellent competition out wide, and will come straight into the squad on Saturday.

With this in mind we have also had to balance the books.

The decision was made easier for us today, as Wes Harrison has had to inform us that his work commitments are proving an issue for him midweek. He has a good job with Investec and has been finding it harder and harder to get out early to train and play, and with a young child also, something has had to give.

The way we have left it, is Wes will remain signed on as a player for us, and if we feel we need cover on a Saturday, we are able to get on the phone to him, and he will be happy to help out.

To be honest, when we were talking about getting Jake in and who might have to make way, it was always going to be a defender, as we feel that we have plenty of cover there.

Wes has played well recently, after having had to be a bit patient earlier in the season, but with Sean fit and available again, we have a ready-made replacement.

In terms of defenders, we are expecting Blounty to be available for the bench on Saturday, and Wooze is earmarking the Uxbridge game.

Scott Harris and Eddie Smith both received treatment tonight, and we are hopeful that both will be available for the weekend, however they are still touch and go.
