Chairman comments on injury problems

Rebels' Chairman Steve Easterbrook comments on the club's current situation.

27/12/13

I am hoping that irrespective of whether we are winning or losing, we will all unite and support and encourage the team in what will be a very, very difficult and testing week

Steve Easterbrook, Chairman

The club is facing severe injury problems, which are the worst I have personally experienced in all my time as Chairman.

We suffered some further injuries yesterday which may result in even more players being unavailable. This of course has created serious problems for Jon and Neil, and at this time of year arranging any kind of immediate cover is problematic.

With Kettering Town fresh from not playing yesterday, tomorrow’s game is again going to be very difficult and a real challenge. With recent results and the ever increasing injury list, morale and confidence are understandably pretty low.

There is no overnight fix to the problems we face, and in less than 24 hours we have to play another game against one of the top form teams, and a team who have had 7 days' rest.

I am hoping that we can all appreciate and recognise the challenges that the team faces tomorrow. This is a really difficult time for Slough Town FC – and I am hoping that irrespective of whether we are winning or losing, we will all unite and support and encourage the team in what will be a very, very difficult and testing week.
