It is with regret that we need to inform you of the release of Darren Wheeler.
Darren has now played under us as managers for almost three years, rarely ever being out of the side and on his day is as good as anyone in this league.
Unfortunately when Darren found out on Saturday morning that he would be on the bench he decided that he would be taking his daughter out for the day. We informed Darren that this was not acceptable and if he was not attending then we would have no option but to release him. I would also just like to add that regretfully this is not an isolated incident.
Whilst very disappointed with how our relationship with Darren has ended we really would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him all the very best for the future.
With Wheeler released and Jake tweaking his hamstring we will obviously need to bring some cover in. We moved quickly last night to put in two seven-day approaches for players and we also have one seven day approach up tomorrow; so there will be one or two changes as we enter the final stretch of the season.
