We are pleased to announce the signing of left winger James Dobson from Southern League Division One South & West side North Leigh.
He spent last season with Burnham where he played a major role in helping them win the Division One Central. We watched him on a number of occasions and were impressed every time, and feel he will fit in very well with how we like to play. He began this season performing well in the Southern Premier but with the club's well-publicised financial issues, he was one of a number of players who left and he went on to join North Leigh before Christmas.
This is a player we had identified as a major target for next season but with the recent release of Darren Wheeler we decided to make a move for him in time for the run in, and we're delighted he has agreed to come across and help our promotion challenge.
We now have four great options in wide areas with 'Dobbo', Warren Harris, Jake Parsons and Steve Duff which is important to us in terms of how we want to play. Warren and Jake are both currently carrying slight injuries and with Duff having played so little football this season (and is also abroad with work for our next two games) it's great timing for us.
James will go straight in to the squad for tomorrow's game at North Greenford.
