Looking Ahead: Barton Rovers

A look ahead to Thursday evening's huge league fixture at Barton Rovers.

Would be great to see the fantastic away support again that we've been enjoying recently, it really makes a difference!

Slough Town travel to Sharpenhoe Road, home of Barton Rovers, on Thursday evening in search of three points which may go a long way to determining whether the Rebels will finish in a playoff spot.

Fourth-placed Slough have been in fine form of late, and on Saturday secured a 2-1 win against Royston Town, with two Warren Harris goals overturning an early headed goal from Ryan Ingrey. That victory made it 10 wins in 13 league games since the turn of the year, with only one defeat in that period.

Whilst the Rebels had Tuesday night off, Barton Rovers were at AFC Hayes, where the Blues notched up a convincing 2-0 win – Luke Knight and Keshi Anderson with the goals.

Rovers sit one place and one point below Slough in the table going into Thursday evening’s fixture, but with two games in hand on the Rebels, making this clash all the more crucial. Last Saturday, the Blues defeated Aylesbury United 4-0 and before that, completed the double over Kettering Town with a fine 3-1 win at Sharpenhoe Road.

Slough recorded a resounding 4-0 home win in the reverse fixture back in September, with Warren Harris and Johnnie Dyer amongst the goals – but joint managers Jon Underwood and Neil Baker are under no illusions that Thursday evening’s match will be one of the toughest tests of the season.

Underwood provided the following information ahead of Thursday evening's clash:

"Scott Harris will unfortunately miss out due to the knee injury he picked up on Saturday. We are hoping it won't be too serious and that we'll have him back for the Ashford game but it's a little too soon to tell at this stage.

"Both Dan Sintim and James Dobson came off with knocks against Royston but we expect both will be fit and able to be involved.

"On the plus side we welcome back Johnnie Dyer and Steve Duff who have both been away for the past two matches.

Squad as follows: Jake Somerville, Sean Fraser, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Dave Woozley, Dan Sintim, George Short, Jamie McClurg, Gareth Risbridger, Jake Parsons, Warren Harris, James Dobson, Steve Duff, Eddie Smith, Johnnie Dyer, Adam Cornell.

"This is obviously a massive game in our season against a very tough Barton side but it's one that we are very much looking forward to as these are the games you want to be involved in. Confidence is high but we are aware this will be a real battle tomorrow night. Would be great to see the fantastic away support again that we've been enjoying recently, it really makes a difference!"
