The draws for the early rounds of the FA competitions have been made at Wembley Stadium and were released yesterday (Friday).
In the FA Cup, Slough will enter one round later than last season, in the First Round Qualifying. The Rebels have been handed a home tie against one of Ardley United, Ash United, Hartley Wintney or Frimley Green, who must face Extra-Preliminary and Preliminary Round ties. This tie will be played on Saturday 13 September at Holloways Park, with the winners to receive £3,000. Ardley will compete in the Hellenic League, Premier Division, whilst Ash, Hartley Wintney and Frimley Green play in the Combined Counties Premier Division.
In the FA Trophy, Slough face a tough trip to Margate, of the Ryman Premier League. Margate, managed by former Slough man Terry Brown, may well be among the favourites to win the league this coming season after bringing in a host of talent in pre-season. This tie will be played on Saturday 1 November, with the winners to receive £2,700. Slough also enter this competition one round later than in previous seasons.
