Looking Ahead: Hereford Utd

Joint manager Jon Underwood looks ahead to Tuesday evening's trip to Hereford United.

11/08/14

There has been a great deal of debate around whether the Slough fans should travel to this game and we totally respect whatever decision you all choose to make.

Jon Underwood

After our great start to the season on Saturday we look forward with confidence to the trip to Hereford tomorrow night.

Hereford started with a 2-0 home defeat against St Neots, who are a very strong side and favourites to win the league, so for a team that has only just been put together that is no disgrace - and they were right in the game until the second goal in injury time.

We have had a report on them from Saturday and know they are a young side who try to play football and are very fit and hard-working which is no surprise as they are in full-time training. I'm sure they will improve from that first competitive game together and it will be another tough test for us but one that we are all very much looking forward to.

We obviously had concerns in terms of availability given the distance for a midweek game but the good news is that only Ben Edwards is ruled out due to work commitments. We have taken the decision to get Adam Cornell a game for Badshot Lea tomorrow as he has missed a lot of pre-season through injury, so we will make the trip tomorrow with a 14 man squad, which will be all of the lads who played on Saturday.

Jake Somerville, Tom Moran, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Reece Yorke, George Short, George Frith, Jamie McClurg, Jake Parsons, Alex Witham, James Dobson, Johnnie Dyer, Scott Harris, Darryl Thomas.

There has been a great deal of debate around whether the Slough fans should travel to this game and we totally respect whatever decision you all choose to make. We also understand it's a very long way to travel for a midweek game but very much hope that a good number of you can make the trip though for what should be a great game in a proper old league ground with plenty of history.
