Looking Ahead: Bideford

Rebels Joint Manager Jon Underwood looks ahead to the this weekend as the Rebels return to league action at home to Bideford.

19/09/14

After a good week of training we are all determined to put last week's disappointment behind us and get back on track

Joint-manager Jon Underwood

After a strong start initially to our league campaign we have found wins a little hard to come by and tomorrow represents a huge game for us as we are determined to start climbing the table.

Bideford currently sit one place and one point below us (with a game in hand) after three wins and five defeats so far this season and as with every game in this league we face another tough battle tomorrow.

We are pleased to welcome back five players who were missing last weekend. Ryan and Jake Parsons, Jamie McClurg, George Short and Johnnie Dyer all return to the squad giving it a much more familiar and strong look and after a good week of training we are all determined to put last week's disappointment behind us and get back on track.

Eddie Smith will miss the game after a recurrence of his hamstring strain last weekend. We are going to need to be extra careful with him now as he has had a few setbacks and we need to ensure he is fully fit next time he steps on to the pitch.

In terms of the longer term injuries it has been a positive week. Luke Knight and Adam Foulser got through a tough running session with the group on Tuesday with no ill effects and then worked hard together last night away from the main group. Knighty is similar to Eddie in that we are taking no chances and being over-cautious this time to ensure he is fully fit when he returns (hopefully at Truro) whilst Foulser is making great strides but will need to continue to take his recovery one step at a time.

Finally we wish Warren Harris well with his cruciate reconstruction today. He has a fantastic example to follow in Foulser in terms of his rehab and will get every support he needs from us to get back fit and flying again come the summer.

The 16 man squad for tomorrow is as follows:

Jake Somerville, Sean Fraser, Tom Moran, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Reece Yorke, Jamie McClurg, George Short, Adrian Sear, George Frith, Jake Parsons, James Dobson, Scott Harris, Johnnie Dyer, Adam Cornell, Daryll Thomas.
