Looking Ahead: Truro City

Rebels Joint Manager Neil Baker looks ahead to the this weekend's league fixture away at Truro City

26/09/14

Slough make the longest away journey of the Southern Premier season this weekend as they travel to Cornish side Truro City for what will only be the third meeting between the two sides.

Slough and Truro City previously met back in the 2008/09 season playing in the Southern South and West Division, the Rebels gaining a point a home against the the title favourites that season but lost on their travels later in the year.

"We make our longest trip of the season tomorrow to Truro in what will be a very tough encounter against a side who are currently occupying one of the play off places.

The hardest part about the Truro fixture is clearly the journey, we have decided that we will have 5 of us drive down, so that the players can relax as much as they can on a 4 and a half hour journey.

We anticipate stopping at Exeter services on the way to Truro, and then we will stop in Exeter on route home for a team night out.

In terms of squad news, we welcome back Luke Knight to the squad after a long term injury that he sustained pre season, whilst not match fit at the moment, we will look to try and get him up to speed as quick as possible, so he can forget the nightmare groin injury he sustained.

Eddie Smith is not quite fit, and George Frith will be unavailable due to an adductor issue sustained this week, also Jamie McClurg is unavailable due to one of his best mates wedding."

Squad will be as follows:

Jake Somerville, Sean Fraser, Tom Moran, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Reece Yorke, Jake Parsons, James Dobson, Luke Knight, Adrian Sear, George Short, Johnnie Dyer, Scott Harris, Daryll Thomas and Adam Cornell.
