Looking Ahead: Redditch United

Rebels Joint Manager Jon Underwood looks ahead to Saturday's league fixture at home to Redditch United.

10/10/14

Redditch United are a new proposition for the Rebels as they visit Holloways Park for the first time following Slough's away trips to Truro City, Corby Town and Arlesey Town in the league and Hungerford Town in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup.

The two sides have yet to meet each other in their respective histories. The Worcestershire side and former Conference North club currently sit below Neil Baker and Jon Underwood's side in 14th place suffering a similar fate to the start of the season, suffering injuries to key players.

Ahead of the fixture joint manager Jon Underwood commented:

"We look forward to returning to Holloways Park on Saturday after a tough run of four away games in two weeks. Like us our opponents have suffered with key players missing in recent weeks and their results have dipped a little after a great start to the season. Having seen them already this season we know they are a very honest hard-working side and we have another tough game on our hands.

We have had a tough week with injuries but the only one who is definitely not fit to play is Adrian Sear (ankle) although it's looking very unlikely that Ryan Parsons will recover in time. He will face a fitness test before the game however and may sit on the bench.

With Reece Yorke suspended for one game we are pleased to welcome back Guy Hollis to the side and we also welcome back Scott Harris, Johnnie Dyer and Jamie McClurg who did not take part in Tuesday's cup game at Hungerford. We've also had injury concerns this week over Jake Somerville, George Short, James Dobson and Daryll Thomas but thankfully all will be fit for Saturday.

To strengthen us defensively we have signed Adam Cash on dual registration with Margate as they have no game on Saturday and have been kind enough to allow us to use him. Adam is actually a local lad who is a very accomplished player, equally comfortable at right or left back and has been involved with their 1st team all season, making several starts and a number of substitute appearances.

Eddie Smith continues his return to fitness with another start for Cove on Saturday in the Combined Counties League."

Squad: Jake Somerville, Sean Fraser, Adam Cash, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Tom Moran, Luke Knight, Jamie McClurg, Jake Parsons, George Short, James Dobson, Scott Harris, Johnnie Dyer, Adam Cornell, Daryll Thomas, Oscar Betts.
