Looking Ahead: Banbury United

Neil Baker talks ahead of this weekend's fixture away at Banbury United.

24/10/14

Slough return to the the road with a trip to Banbury United following their 2-0 victory over Hereford United midweek.

Back in August Neil and Jon's Rebels earned their second victory of the 2014/15 campaign with a 2-1 win at Holloways Park. Goals from George Short and Darryl Thomas earned the points whilst former Puritan Elias Katsoloudi scored from a spectacular effort on the day.

Ahead of this weekend's trip to Banbury joint manager Neil Baker commented:

"After an excellent three points at home, we start the first of three away games on the bounce with a tough looking trip to Banbury.

You can obviously look at the league table and think we should get three points, however we have fallen in that trap once before this season, and also the fact is they are a completely different side that started the season with seven league defeats, having brought in a new manager.

The fact that they beat Cambridge City, then took a point off St Neots and followed that up with a 3-2 win away at Dunstable, means that we know this will be an extremely difficult game.

In terms of squad news, it is highly unlikely Ben Edwards will play a part, and we also have a slight concern over Jamie McClurg who has an ankle problem, but we are able to welcome Adrian Sear and Guy Hollis back into the squad, and George Short is now also fully fit."

Squad will be from:

A Gogic, S Fraser, T Moran, R Parsons, G Hollis, B Jeffreys, R Yorke, L Knight, J Dobson, J Parsons, J McClurg, G Short, A Sear, E Smith, S Harris, A Cornell.
