Looking Ahead: St Neots Town

Neil Baker provides an update ahead of the midweek fixture away at St Neots Town.

08/12/14

Slough Town make the midweek trip to St Neots Town following defeat to Dunstable Town at the weekend.

The Rebels face the Cambridgeshire based side for the first time since the 2011/12 season when the two sides contested for the Southern League Central Division title, St Neots eventually winning the league outright.

Ahead of the fixture, joint manager Neil Baker commented:

"After Saturday’s disappointment we have an even tougher evening in store with a tough trip to St Neots, who were most people’s pre-season favourites for the league title.

We have a number of issues at present which we are looking to try and overcome, and myself and Jon will busy over the next 48 hours.

We will be without Reece Yorke who has his grandfather's funeral on Tuesday, and will be unable to make the trip. We will again be without Tom Moran, who is still on a residential work course (hence why he has not been available for last few midweeks)

Billy Jeffreys sustained what looks initially to be an MCL strain, which will keep him out of action for a few weeks minimum (depending on the severity of it).

Jamie McClurg will also need a fitness test on the injury he sustained Saturday.

Guy Hollis will be available again, after being unable to play this weekend due to a work commitment that he was unable to get out of, plus Leigh Rumbold and Adrian Sear will both be fit.

Obviously this does leave us quite light defensively, and we are trying to work on one or two options at the moment."

Squad from: Somerville, Fraser, R Parsons, Hollis, Dobson, McClurg, Rumbold, Knight, Edwards, J Parsons, Sear, Dyer, Smith, Harris.
