Following a 7-day approach from St Ives Town in the Southern League Division One Central, we can confirm that Luke Knight has decided to move on.
He feels his opportunities in his natural position may be limited with the signing of Adam Martin, and the form of Adrian Sear and Ben Edwards, plus the fact Tom Moran has also done very well in there.
Having received the approach last night, we decided to waive the 7 days, and let him speak with them immediately, and he has informed us he will be leaving this morning.
Unfortunately 'Knighty' hasn’t quite had the impact we were all hoping for when we signed him which he openly admits, but a lot can be put down to the injury he sustained in pre-season, which put him behind others, and therefore led to him playing out of position more often than not.
He has been extremely professional throughout his time at the club and is a nice lad to boot. It is a shame that it hasn’t quite worked out, however that is football sometimes, we wish him the best at St Ives.
