Looking Ahead: Burnham

Jon Underwood looks ahead to the midweek local derby against Burnham.

19/01/15

Following Saturday's excellent performance and result against the league leaders we face a very different test tomorrow night with the local derby against Burnham.

Despite their position at the foot of the table our visitors have only been beaten on two occasions in the last three months by more than a single goal which tells you they are a tough nut to crack. They have come very close to earning a point at both Poole and Hungerford in recent weeks and we will not be under-estimating them in any way.

In terms of team news Adrian Sear remains sidelined with an ankle injury while Ben Edwards picked up a groin strain towards the end of Saturday's game and will also miss out. We hope both could come back in to contention for Saturday's game against Poole.

To bolster the squad for this game we have added two vastly experienced players who we both know very well and who are also familiar to a good number of our players too. Gavin Smith came on as a sub in the league cup game at Egham earlier in the season and can play in midfield or up front while Jon Palmer is a very versatile player who has been turning out regularly at Badshot Lea and has signed a Southern League form today.

The support on Saturday was fantastic and we'd love to see this continue tomorrow night as we aim to get another three points on the board.

Squad: Williams, Fraser, R Parsons, Hollis, Jeffreys, Yorke, Moran, Martin, J Parsons, Dobson, E Smith, Harris, Dyer, Betts, Palmer, G Smith.
