Looking Ahead: Poole Town

Jon Underwood provides an update ahead of title-chasing Poole Town's visit to Holloways Park.

23/01/15

Second placed Poole Town visit Holloways Park for the Rebels' third home fixture in a row.

Poole gained all three points at the Tatnam Ground back in September with Keith Emmerson’s 30-yard wonder strike and a low free kick from Steve Devlin sealing the game for the high-flying ‘Dolphins’, with James Dobson’s late strike not enough to spark a comeback.

Following on from last weekend's victory over Weymouth and a midweek draw against Burnham joint manager Jon Underwood looked ahead to the fixture:

"We face another huge test tomorrow with the visit of Poole Town who sit just one point off the top of the league but with a game in hand having led the table for most of the season.

Poole's main strength is their fantastic defensive record which has seen them concede just 15 goals in 24 games this season but we are also very aware of the qualilities they possess going forward.

We know Tuesday's performance was not good enough but we have to give credit to our lads who showed tremendous character to fight back with 10 men and earn a point with the last kick of the game. Last weekend's 3-0 win against Weymouth gives us huge confidence in our ability and we know we will need to re-create something like that level of performance if we are to get anything from this game but this is a challenge we are all very much looking forward to.

We will be giving late fitness tests to three players tomorrow, Ben Edwards (groin), Ryan Parsons (hamstring) and Adrian Sear (ankle). At the moment we would rate all of them at 50/50 but we are hopful that at least one will be fit enough to be involved."

Squad (from): Luke Williams, Sean Fraser, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Reece Yorke, Billy Jeffreys, Tom Moran, Ben Edwards, Adrian Sear, Adam Martin, Jake Parsons, James Dobson, Eddie Smith, Scott Harris, Johnnie Dyer, Oscar Betts, Gavin Smith.
