Looking Ahead: Corby Town

Neil Baker looks ahead to Saturday's visit of Corby Town.

06/02/15

Fourth-placed Corby Town are the visitors to Holloways Park tomorrow (Saturday), and the Rebels will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat at Bideford last Saturday.

However, Slough have been hampered with the unavailability of a number of key players through injury and suspension, and the joint managers have had a busy week bringing in midfield reinforcements.

Neil Baker provided the following update:

"We go into Saturday's tough game against Corby with a few new signings in our ranks, as our hand has been forced a bit with our ever extending injury list.

"At present we still have the long termers of Warren Harris and Adam Foulser out, add into that Adrian Sear (ankle), George Short (groin), Jamie McClurg (knee), and Ben Edwards (hip flexor), all of whom we are not quite sure when they will be fit. Plus we have a doubt over Guy Hollis, who came off with a turned ankle on Saturday (however this is not as bad as first feared, and could still be an option for Saturday), we then add Johnnie Dyer who is suspended.

"With four central midfielders out, this is obviously where we have needed to strengthen, although we are still trying to add another striker to the squad, but this does now not look it will happen by the weekend.

"Firstly we welcome Liam Malone who has recently been playing at Chesham, however he had previously been with Oxford City in the Conference North and was part of the team that got them promotion from the Southern Premier. He signed his forms tonight, and we have agreed that we will see how things go over the next few weeks, and work from there.

"Also joining us for the next two games on loan are midfielders Daniel Brown and Gürkan Gökmen from Wealdstone. Daniel joined Wealdstone in September from Maidenhead United where he had played over 160 times for the club at Conference South level, and has also been a regular starter for Wealdstone this season.

"Gürkan is a 20 year old Dutch midfielder who was a pro at Watford and has recently been playing professionally in Turkey for Ankara based club Şekerspor A.Ş. and been highly recommended by Gordon Bartlett at Wealdstone.

"They will all come into the squad for Saturday which will be made up of the following:

Luke Williams, Sean Fraser, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Reece Yorke, Billy Jeffreys, Tom Moran, James Dobson, Jake Parsons, Liam Malone, Daniel Brown, Adam Martin, Gürkan Gökmen, Eddie Smith, Scott Harris.
