Looking Ahead: St Neots & Hungerford

A look ahead to the Easter weekend fixtures, with squad news from Neil Baker.

03/04/15

Slough have two matches this Easter weekend - first, St Neots Town visit Holloways Park on Saturday, before a trip to Hungerford Town on Easter Monday.

The Rebels have had differing fortunes against the two sides in the reverse matches earlier in the season, defeating St Neots by 3-0 at Rowley Park, but losing 2-1 at Holloways Park against Hungerford on New Year's Day.

Joint manager Neil Baker provided the following update ahead of the two games:

"We move into this weekend’s Easter fixtures knowing two points will guarantee Southern Premier League football for next season, however matching Biggleswade’s result on Saturday will also guarantee Step 3 football, as they still have to play Arlesey on Monday (which will result in one or both dropping points).

"After Saturday’s game at Hitchin we have worked hard in training and hope to try and put on two decent performances against very good sides in St Neots and Hungerford who both still harbour play off hopes.

"We welcome Adam Martin and Chris Henry back into the squad, however we have slight doubts over Eddie Smith who pulled up in the last minute at Hitchin with a tight hamstring. Jamie McClurg’s knee is also still causing him some issues so will not be available this weekend, and Gürkan Gökmen is also suffering from a virus so we will not know how he is until the day of the first game.

"Finally, Billy Jeffreys pulled up in training on Thursday night, however he will have a fitness test on Saturday.

"On the positive side Warren Harris trained on Tuesday night and got involved in the vast majority of the session. It was great seeing him running round the pitch, and his fitness levels looked very good, to the extent that he feels that he could probably play now. There is no point in pushing it for this season, but we fully expect him to be back for the first pre-season session with no problems."

Squad to be picked from the following for the weekend's fixtures:

Luke Williams, Sean Fraser, Tom Moran, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Reece Yorke, Billy Jeffreys (if fit), Jake Parsons, Chris Henry, Gürkan Gökmen, Adam Martin, Ben Edwards, Jamie McClurg, George Short, Eddie Smith, Scott Harris, Dan Read, Jon Palmer, Oscar Betts.
