Looking Ahead: Hitchin Town

Joint manager Jon Underwood looks ahead to a visit to Hitchin Town

21/08/15

The squad trained well last night and were in good spirits as you would expect after the 7-1 win on Tuesday but we know we face a very tough test at Hitchin tomorrow who are a well organised and very hard working side.

We had to withdraw two players with injuries on Tuesday night. Nathan Webb has a lower back problem and will not be fit for tomorrow and Gary MacDonald felt some discomfort in his knee but we expect him to be fit to play.

We are boosted by the return of Eddie Smith who trained fully last night but we are still missing Craig Scott, Billy Jeffreys and Jake Parsons. Gurkan Gokmen had a further issue with his hamstring after his sub appearance on Tuesday and he was unable to train last night and won't be risked tomorrow.

Due to the current defensive injuries we have drafted in experienced defender/midfielder Stuart Lake (brother of Ryan) who was playing Conference South football at Basingstoke 2 years ago and last season was with Wingate & Finchley in the Ryman Premier. He is a lad we know well who will fit in and bring additional experience.

Squad (from): Mark Scott, Luke Williams, Sean Fraser, Ryan Parsons, Guy Hollis, Gary MacDonald, Stuart Lake, Callum Webb, Adrian Sear, Adam Martin, Jamie McClurg, Ben Edwards, Warren Harris, Scott Harris, Eddie Smith, Lewis Putman, Oscar Betts.
