Craig Scott injury update

Jon Underwood gives the latest on Craig Scott's injury.

08/09/15

We received some disappointing news tonight from Craig Scott following an appointment he had with a consultant to review a scan that he had last week.

Having been injured on the opening day of the season he went to A&E that night and had an X-ray and was told nothing was broken, but his recovery has been slow which prompted him to have a further scan and tonight he was told he has a dislocated bone in his foot.

He will have an operation on Friday to have two screws on his foot and will be in a cast for six weeks, and then he is looking at a further six weeks before he can be back training/playing so we are looking at December unfortunately.

This is a huge blow for him and he is naturally very disappointed, as are we. We will obviously give him all the support he needs and being a determined lad we are sure he will come back as soon as is physically possible.

For us it does cause a real concern in the centre back position with Billy announcing last week he is leaving and taking a break from playing due to injury and the ongoing uncertainty with Guy. Stuart Lake has stepped in recently and has done very well but cannot commit fully so this is a situation we will be taking a close look at this week and next.
