As we continue to re-shape our squad we have taken the decision today to release Gary MacDonald.
We feel that Guy Hollis and Dan Hicks is the right centre back pairing for us at the moment and want to give them a run of games together and to have a player on the bench such as Macca was not going to be right for him or for us.
We have Leigh Rumbold returning after the weekend who gives great cover in that position having done so well there when he was with us last season as well as Stuart Lake should we need him. With Craig Scott likely to be out until January we wouldn't rule out bringing in another centre back but there is nobody on our immediate radar.
We thank Macca for his efforts this season. He is a great character, liked and respected by everyone in the changing room, and we wish him well.
