Squad update

Neil Baker provides an update on the squad ahead of Tuesday's League Cup match against Chesham United.

11/10/15

Unfortunately Jake Parsons has had his scan results, and they are worse than first thought. He will require an operation due to cartilage and bone damage in his knee.

It looks like he will be a minimum of three months out, but with full recovery, and time to gain his fitness, potentially a lot longer. This is a real shame for Jake as it seems he is a little cursed since being with us, and has never really had a full run at fitness, with the exception of the back end of last season and a very good pre-season this year.

Eddie Smith is to step up his comeback this week after training fully on Thursday, and will go out on loan to Hartley Wintney from the Combined Counties Premier. He will spend the next two weeks there, where he will play four games, before returning the weekend of the FA Trophy game at Romford, which will coincide with Charlie Strutton returning to Braintree.

Leigh Rumbold is now back in the country and will rejoin the squad Tuesday, however at present we do not have his international clearance from the FA despite putting this in 10 days ago. We will keep chasing and with a bit of luck he will be eligible to play on Tuesday.

We have also agreed to sign centre back Justin Clayton on a dual registration basis from Hayes and Yeading. We were initially speaking with Justin before he signed with Hayes, and as long as the paperwork is sorted (as he is still registered at Burnham, who have been very helpful) he will come straight into the squad for Tuesday.

Possible squad for Chesham United: Mark Scott, Sean Fraser, Wes Harrison, Justin Clayton, Leigh Rumbold, Dan Hicks, Paul Stonehouse, Gurkan Gokmen, Lewis Putman, Adam Martin, Adrian Sear, Declan Benjamin, Ryan Hope, Scott Harris, Charlie Strutton, Charlie Mpi.
