New Year Squad Update

The joint managers provide a squad update ahead of tomorrow's match against Kettering Town.

08/01/16

After the Christmas break, we thought we would give everyone a little update on where we are squad wise.

Nathan Fox will sign for a Northern Premier League team in the next few days now that Jhai Dhillon is back to full fitness, however he will remain signed on with us on Southern League forms. We would like to thank 'Foxy' for his displays in a Slough shirt where we were both very impressed with him.

Kensley Maloney will return to Burnham; we felt that at this stage with his suspension and the return of a few players he is unlikely to get much first team football, and at his age he needs to play football.

Charlie Mpi has accepted a job working for Emirates out of Dubai, and will be leaving us on the 16th of February. He will remain signed on, and will potentially still participate in some games throughout the season as he will be coming back on numerous occasions. This is obviously a big blow to us as since he joined us his attitude has been first class, and his performances have been excellent. This is something we have known about for some time, and still gives us plenty of time to get a replacement in, and with that in mind we have put in a 7-day approach for a step 3 striker today.

Craig Scott, who we were hoping might be fit at the end of March, has also taken a job which means relocating back to the north. Unfortunately it was not meant to be for 'Scottie', and we wish him the best for the future.

Sean Fraser is currently away in Australia, however will be back next Wednesday and available for us against Cirencester.

Ryan Case has been recalled to Basingstoke today, as they have had a defender recalled from a loan spell. George Hallahan will only be with us for the next three games, and will then return to Basingstoke as the club only wanted to get him out for one month.

Leigh Rumbold is back from America and having trained Tuesday and Thursday will come straight back into the squad for Saturday.

Adrian Sear, Warren Harris, Guy Hollis and Dan Hicks are also back to fitness, having all trained this week with no problems. Eddie Smith will hopefully only be a couple of weeks away from fitness, following his hamstring strain. Also Jake Parsons returned to running last night, and we hope he will not be too long away from fitness.

Finally, Paul Coyne has returned to the UK from travelling in Australia, and signed Southern League forms for us last night having trained Tuesday and Thursday. He may take a little bit of time to get his match fitness up, however he is a naturally fit lad, and we expect to start involving him shortly. He is someone that myself and Jon have always liked having come across him in our playing days, and we look forward to working with him.

Squad from: Mark Scott, Leigh Rumbold, Jhai Dhillon, Guy Hollis, Dan Hicks, Justin Clayton, Lewis Putman, Warren Harris, Gurkan Gokmen, Adrian Sear, Nathan Webb, James Jepson, Paul Coyne, Scott Harris, Charlie Mpi, George Hallahan.
