STYFC weekend update

A round-up of last weekend's action across the Youth teams.

24/02/16

The U16s made it to the Berks & Bucks Cup final with a penalty shoot out win.

It was a great team effort to win the game having been one nil down at half time from a dubious penalty. Early on in the second half they equalised through a rare left footed goal from Tyreice Byrne. Extra time came and went with chances for both sides. Slough were triumphant on penalties scored by Tyreice Byrne, Tapuwa Matambanadzo, Toby Crouch and Thaon Richardson. It was a fine save by Matty Brophy that secured the win for Slough.

The U14s put a fantastic team performance together and pulled off an amazing 7-2 win against Flackwell Heath. Slough dominated from the word go and were 3 up with goals from Imran and Thomas (2). Flackwell won a penalty which Vickram (who was a massive doubt for the game having injured his right hand) made a fantastic save from, diving low to his right. Flackwell managed to score a goal making it 3-1 at half time.

The second half continued in the same vein as the first where ther defence were very solid and the forwards kept creating loads of chances. Slough went 5-1 up through Isa and an own goal.

Flackwell never gave up and pulled another goal back but Slough kept pushing for more and Thomas rounded off a great performance with another two goals. The score line could have been a lot more in Slough's favour however this was one of the best performances seen from the boys. This was also with six players missing.

There were some great performances from Iggy, Vic and Imran. However the obvious man of the match must be Thomas.

The U13s continued their winning ways with a powerful performance against 4th placed Boyne Hill. Two goals apiece from Philbert Arko, Tom McFarlane and Owen Nelson were added to by Ted Salt and Harry Jones to complete an impressive 8-1 victory.

It was a tough weekend for both U11 teams with neither managing a win. There were notable performances from Steven Elmer and keeper Leo Godding in the Youth team and goal scorers for the Rebels were Dwayne Headley and Aidan Rance. Aidan is on a roll at the moment.
