STYFC weekend update

A round-up of last weekend's action.

10/03/16

The U10s continued with their impressive form. It was a great team performance against a well organised opposition. The work rate and team play was excellent and the parents echoed what a good game it was. Goal scorers were Marcel (2), Diego (2) and Max. MOM Diego.

The U11 Youth put in a fantastic team performance with goals from Joe Reed (2) and Alex Ram scoring his first goal for Slough Town. Man of the Match was shared between Alfie T and Taylor Peplow. Well done boys, was a treat to watch!

The U11 Rebels had a tough game. Man of the Match was Hadley Fisher. Heads up boys. It will come.

The U13s put on a masterful display of attacking football to overpower Burnham Junior Whites. A fine squad performance saw goals from 7 different players to contribute to a 1-8 win. Goals came from Francis Ketter, Jake Beaumont, Ben Hall, Ted Salk, Tom MacFarlane, Luke Mulcahy and a brace from Tom King. Despite not scoring today Philbert Arko was man of the match having a major contribution to many of the goals and fast attacking play of the team.

The U14s kept up their recent form with a 6-3 win against 4th placed Chalfont Saints Leopards. Slough went ahead with two great finishes from Thomas who delicately chipped the out-rushing keeper and Mansukh who scored a dipping 25 yarder. Chalfont heads didn't drop and midway through the first half they turned the game around with three quick goals from three chances. Likewise Slough kept their heads and got an equaliser through a header from Thomas.

Slough continued to dominate the second half, carving out several great chances and eventually regained the lead from a corner when Reece headed in from close range. Isa got the next goal with a great one-two with Thomas. Thomas completed the scoring and a perfect hat-trick (right, left, header) with a low right-footed shot after a great through ball from Isa.

There were good performances from Abdi and Rocco, who were both playing out of position as we had three full backs unavailable. Mansukh and Zayd were good inthe heart of the modefield but Man of the Match was Isa who scored one, set up three and was a constant threat.

The team turnaround in form owes a lot of credit to our goalkeeper Vic who got Player of the Month for February.
The win also lifts the 'curse of the front pitch'!
