Slough Town PALS team maintain push for honours

Slough Town's PALS team continue their fine form in the BOBi League, Conference Division.

12/04/16

Slough Town's PALS (Participation Association Leisure and Sport) team currently sit in the lofty position of top of the BOBi League, Conference Division having secured 13 wins and two draws out of 19 games this season.

The BOBi League is a pan-disability league that operates across Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The League has divisions for adult males, adult females, U16’s and U12’s, as well as a division for individuals with mental health and social issues

Slough are six points clear of second-placed Northampton Town and their amazing form in the autumn matches put them in good stead going into the first tournament of 2016. In March they travelled to The Great Marlow School where they played six matches, winning two, drawing one and losing three. The players have shown great dedication and worked extremely hard to make this dramatic improvement in form from their first season together and this is great testimony to their dedicated manager Danny Turner and the band of volunteers who travel with them to offer support.

The next tournament for the Slough BOBi squad is on 24 April at Oxford City and we wish the players and their supporters the very best of luck. It would be great to add a league championship to the U16's County Cup win.

Sadly though, this may be the last season the team runs as Danny Turner is moving away and so far attempts to find a replacement have proved futile. So if you know anyone who could help run the team, collect the players and drive the mini bus etc. please let us know.
