Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Holloway's Park for today's EvoStik Division One Central League encounter against Daventry Town FC and a tough match is expected as we return to league action following the FA Cup last week.

Last weekend we deservedly progressed to the 2nd Qualifying round of the FA Cup with a great win at Evostik Premier Division Banbury United FC and the 3v1 scoreline certainly didn't flatter us or tell the true story as we missed a penalty and a few decent chances, whilst restricting Banbury to long range attempts and little else. We went there with a game plan and it's always nice when the planning pays off and the players carry out the things they were asked to do. I've said all the long that this group of players would cope comfortably with the level above but as we know the hardest part is getting there !

Our reward for last weekends victory is a home tie against Conference South side Boreham Wood FC and I'm sure we'll give it a real good go and look to extend our own giantkilling run beyond Boreham Wood and into the next round.

So, back to the bread and butter of the league and a tough challenge today against a side who reached the play offs last year like ourselves and whom harbour the same ambitions as ourselves to go one better this year. A change of Manager through the summer and  a few players has brought a fresh impetus to today's opponents and we will need to work hard to get the points and maintain our recent momentum as we look to keep up with the early pacesetters in between the distraction of the FA Cup.

Get behind the boys today and I look forward to seeing you all here again next weekend
