Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Holloways Park for todays Evostik Division One Central encounter against our local rivals from Marlow FC.

As these notes were penned prior to the Christmas break I would like to take this opportunity to wish all connected with Slough Town FC a Merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous new year and hopefully the Boxing Day and New years Eve games have seen us retain our top of the table position and see us well placed for sustaining our promotion challenge during the second half of the season.

Our last home league game saw us overcome Bedworth here following an all action game where we showed good character to come from behind and take full advantage of the opposition being reduced to 10 men. I thought we were full value for the win on the back of our second half showing and greatful for James keeping us in the game with his first half performance. James's performance came a few days after he committed his immediate future to the club by signing a contract that will run to the end of next season and hopefully beyond and is just reward for him for some excellent performances this season.

As we turn the year I cannot pass up the opportunity of thanking all our supporters for their excellent support towards the management and players and I'll even include Cookham Rebel in that statement!  I am convinced the second goal against Bedworth was sucked over the line by the last contingent behind the goal and the players showed again how they can respond to the terrific noise and atmosphere you manage to create for us at Holloways Park. We need more of the same in the remaining games this season as we chase the dream of promotion and I urge you all to stick with us and find a friend to bring along with you to enjoy the ride that comes with being a dedicated Slough fan.
