It could be our year , You never know !!

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Holloways Park on a Sunday for an early Kick Off against our opponents Binfield FC in this years FA Cup. A new experience all round, due to both ourselves and Beaconsfield being drawn at home at this stage but hopefully a rewarding one in terms of the result and a larger than normal crowd on this Sunday afternoon.
Today's opponents have started their campaign brightly and I expect nothing other than a tough encounter and we will need to continue our own recent good form if we are to progress to a 1st qualyfying round match against Banbury United FC which awaits the winners today.
Following the disappointment of the Burnham result I was very pleased with our response over the busy Bank Holiday weekend when we won both games at a canter and look solid throughout and we should be full of confidence and looking to carry on where we left off. We certainly won't underestimate our opponents today and will be working hard to ensure we aren't one of those surprise results in the paper tomorrow morning as there will undoubtedly be a few of them.
We can forget about the league situation for a couple of weeks in the knowledge that when we return to it we will be at the top end of it with something to build upon over the coming weeks. Today is all about the magic of the FA Cup and I would dearly like to have an extended run in it this season as it brings both financial reward and a nice distraction from the bread and butter of the league at a time of the season when we are all still fairly fresh.
I was very disappointed to lose young George Coyle to injury, with a fractured cheekbone against Marlow, and I hope he recovers quickly as he is a young man I have high hopes for and he has made a positive start with us, for one so young. On the positive side I expect Dave Woozely to feature today following his recent muscular injury and we have received confirmation that Alex Brown does not require surgery on his broken wrist and can let nature take it's course. Also, a warm welcome to Goalkeepers James Warrington and Carl Dennison who have both joined us recently and I wish you both a very successful time with us. Please get behind us today, as you always do, and hopefully we can continue to build on a promising start and get a cup run going and generate some more excitement through that. It could be our year , You never know !!
