Bio

Born at Blackburn, near Edinburgh, Frank played in the West Fife League. He soon became prominent and was offered trials with Partick Thistle and Reading.

Frank joined the Royal Navv as a stoker in 1939. He was posted to the Destroyer on Malta convoy. He was torpedoed during voyage, and rescued and landed at Malta. Frank was there during their heaviest blitz. He captained the R.M. and R.N. team.
Upon his return to Chatham, he played for Barracks.

Frank spent 10 months in hospital due to the after effects of being torpedoed. He invalided out of Service in 1943, but went on to play for Intertype (1944/45), and Maidenhead (1945/46) before making 14 appearances for Slough.
