Ian Lovegrove
Capable left sided defender who also played in the centre of defence. Signed from Abingdon United.
Had a number of eye catching displays for the reserve side before being given his opportunity to step up into the first team. Unfortunately, a series of niggling injuries prevented the Rebels fans from seeing Lovegrove at his best.
Ian reads the game well from the back and despite his shorter stature compared to most centre backs, wins his fair share of headers against taller opponents. Comfortable on the ball, Ian has good distribution of the ball from his left foot at the back and following a spell with Abingdon at the back end of the 05/06 season, returned to the club.
