The Railwaymen from Didcot were unable to put Slough off the track as they cruised into the second round of the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup.

But Slough boss Alan Davies said after Tuesday's game at Wexham Park: "They put us under a bit of pressure in the first half. For them to play at Slough is like us playing at Swansea."

The Rebels soon found that they had little choice but to forget their FA Cup date and get stuck in. As Slough began to take command Gary Hordienko made a brilliant save after Rowan Dodds had hung in the air to head Kenny Wilson's free-kick.

Dodds showed a good deal more appetite for the game than for several weeks and when he got to the byline after 37 minutes, Hordienko was unable to hold his low drive across goal and Mark Davis slid in for his first Slough goal.

After the break Slough began to make their superiority tell in the form of some neat football. Dodds sliced into the box to bring a flying save out of the 'keeper and after 53 minutes he was given a simple nod in after Hordienko had punched Wilson's cross to Devon Petty.

Ten minutes later White headed against the bar before the ball was scrambled for a corner, from which Wilson found Jeff Bateman to glance home at the near post. Davis led the line with gusto and Slough almost got a fourth when Jimmy Brown's shot was deflected just wide.
